The Story
Tainaron Blue Retreat in southern Mani is a guest house unlike any other. Architects Kostas Zouvelos and Kassiani Theodorakakou transformed a 19th-century stone tower—once a defensive stronghold—into a serene haven with three intimate bedrooms, a shared kitchen, a patio, and an infinity pool that melts into the horizon.
Their vision honored Mani’s austere beauty while embracing contemporary elegance. The result: a monolithic structure that seems to rise organically from the rock, timeless yet modern. It’s no wonder the retreat earned the Special Committee Award for Overall Rating at the 100% Hotel Design Awards in 2015.

The Challenge
Our mission: to craft a brand identity and digital presence that matched the architectural brilliance and emotional depth of Tainaron Blue Retreat.
We were entrusted with:
- Developing a distinct visual identity that captured the soul of the retreat
- Designing a website that inspired bookings and wanderlust
- Building a social media strategy from scratch to generate global awareness
From the outset, we were captivated by the architects’ passion and the poetic nature of the project. This was more than branding—it was storytelling in its purest form.


Strategy & Insight
We approached the project with reverence for Mani’s wild landscape and the tower’s elegance. Our strategy centered on emotional resonance, minimalism, and authenticity.
Visual identity: We designed a logo that distilled the essence of the retreat—earth tones echoing the stone façade, a touch of blue evoking the infinity pool and Aegean sky.
Tone of voice: Quietly confident, evocative, and rooted in place.
Design philosophy: Every detail has a reason, every element a story.


Brand Collateral
We produced a full suite of branded materials:
- Business cards, letterheads, envelopes, brochures
- Menus crafted from recycled cardboard to reflect Mani’s raw beauty

Social Media
With zero initial awareness, we built Tainaron Blue’s digital presence from the ground up:
- Launched and curated Facebook and Instagram accounts
- Published strategic content that showcased the retreat’s experience
- Ran targeted campaigns for awareness and fan acquisition


Website
The website was designed to convert curiosity into bookings:
- Immersive galleries and intuitive navigation
- A custom booking engine seamlessly integrated with the brand palette
- A blog celebrating Mani’s culture, nature, and soul
