Objective & Challenge

The name Dio Ypsi is inspired by the vineyard’s unique topography, flowing like a wave over two opposing slopes in Ilia. Our challenge was to design a website that not only met modern technical specifications but also reflected the high aesthetics of the wine industry, where minimal and modern design dominates. With a limited number of wine labels and the addition of olive oil in the product range, we needed to present the offerings comprehensively, without confusion or dilution of brand identity.

Strategy & Creativity

We drew inspiration from the estate’s topography — its defining trademark — and incorporated design elements from the product labels into the digital experience. The concept was to create a “wandering” journey, guiding visitors from the estate’s history to its final products. This narrative approach allowed us to differentiate the website from conventional wine industry sites, while maintaining elegance and clarity.

Implementation & Results

The final website is distinctive and immersive. Horizontal scrolling enhances the storytelling aspect, making browsing feel like a journey through the estate. Each product is presented with its own background, activated by mouse-over or tap, ensuring clarity and separation. Olive oil was given its own dedicated space in the menu, reinforcing its unique role within the estate’s offerings.

This innovative approach earned INK Design the Silver Award at the Indie Awards 2023, recognizing excellence in hospitality and wine industry web design.
